I joined X a couple days ago, and have been orienting myself with the platform. So far, it has been an excellent way to discover new content related to our course, and learn about current issues in the realm of animal rights. I have been able to connect with my classmates and learn about their interests related to animals, and what they wish to advocate for.
I looked at a bit of content related to coyotes and how people are intimated by them and scared that they are "stalking" them, while in reality they are trying to protect their pups. This theme has come up quite a bit on my feed of the idea that humans have become ignorant to the lifestyles and habitats that animals established well before us. Scrolling through my X feed has put these boundaries back into perspective for me. I followed lots of animal rights advocates, as I hope to gain a better understanding of the current climate of animal rights advocacy and protection.
I came across other tweets and posted some articles/videos I found online that elaborated on themes I came across in a few TIME articles that I read for previous assignments. The theme that interested me the most is how animals deal with grief. Depending on the species, it can be very similar to the human way that we grieve, isolating oneself, losing appetite, ect. The themes for this class are really interesting to me and I am excited to learn more. I want to become more informed and understand how my actions impact the environment and all the animals that I share it with.
I attached a screenshot of my X account below, it is also linked on the home page of this website. Check it out to see what my classmates are sharing with me and articles that I come across relevant to this course!

Love your blog! So true about how humans are ignorant regarding other animals and their habitats and behaviors
